Read a real estate book before choosing an agent when buying
or selling a home
By Larry Stoller
Buying and/or selling a home is one
of the biggest financial decisions you will make in your lifetime.
So doesn’t it make sense to choose a
real estate agent who will work best for you and get you the best real estate
deal?
With construction costs increasing,
delays in new home construction, home prices rising, market conditions changing,
inventory decreasing or decreasing, interest rates fluctuating, many financing
options to choose from, finance contingencies, and inspection contingencies, it’s critical that you have the right real
estate agent by your side during the entire purchase transaction.
With full service real estate
brokerages, discount real estate companies, for sale by owner options,
estimated home value computations, variable rate commissions, changing market
conditions, inventory fluctuations, seller’s markets, buyer’s market, supply
and demand swings by specific communities, and so many agents to choose from,
you really have to shop around to hire the best agent to sell your home.
When buying or selling, problems may
arise: > home is priced too low or too high, > home does not show well, >
buyers not qualified or pre-approved, > offers and counter-offers are poorly
negotiated, > purchase agreement has errors, > contingencies affect closing, > house
repairs are incomplete, > liens are on the property,
> appraisal short-falls, > additional
underwriting conditions, > walk-through issues, and > closing statement
errors.
Experienced and proactive real
estate agents know how to prevent these kinds of problems. They are directly
involved in the transaction every step of the way until the property
successfully closes.
So when choosing a real estate
agent, make sure that your agent will be working hard and smart for you during
the entire real estate transaction.
One way to do that is to read a real
estate book that will help you find the right real estate agent who will work
best for you. But there are so many books to choose from so how do you know
which one to read?
Here’s one real estate book Finding
Agent Right that you can read for free on line. This book uses a
question and answer format (where you ask the right questions and get the right
answers) before hiring that agent.
